What makes your coffee the best?

Our coffee may taste awesome already, but Volcano Coffee Works is driven by always wanting better.

We're not just talking about better quality coffee here but our ultimate goal of delivering equal value to both our customers and the producers who exist at opposite ends of the supply chain. By advocating Ethical Trading standards we ensure that we're constantly improving buying practices with our coffee producers, and that everyone who makes our coffee shares in our successes.

Our coffee is about so much more than the liquid in your cup. It takes many more hands to produce small batch, specialty coffee than it does to turn out commodity coffee, but we wouldn’t have it any other way.

What does ‘Ethically Traded’ mean?

Volcano has been built on the ethos of ethically-traded coffee.

We pay farmers and coffee-growing communities a significant margin above the fair trade price in return for a premium product. This in turn gives them the means to invest in their farms, resulting in further increases in quality. It’s a process of continual improvement which results in a better life for the coffee-growing communities, and better coffee for you and me!

Talk to me about coffee pods

That's right - our current Coffee Pod capsules, lids and bag packaging are made out of a cornstarch material, which is a 100% bio-based renewable resource! When you've made your coffee, simply place this waste in your local authority food-waste collection bin - the industrial composting process will break down our Pods and packaging in as little as 90 days.

For best results, use our Pods with a Coffee Pod machine from Dualit's range or any Nespresso-compatible machine.

How should I store my coffee?

Keep your coffee tasting great by storing it at room temperature in an airtight container.

If we're getting scientific about it, freezing coffee can be a very effective means for storing your beans or ground coffee without compromising quality, but only if you make sure that it is packed in a completely moisture free environment. If you don't have a vac-pack machine, we don't recommend you try this at home.


Do you offer coffee subscriptions?

We offer a subscription package on all of our coffee blends and pods. Visit our Subscriptions page for the full list.

You can subscribe to as many as four bags of coffee a week (if you're a household of coffee fiends), or as few as one every four months (if you only drink coffee a one or two times each week).

 We recommend that one 250kg bag or one order of coffee pods is suitable for one person to have a coffee everyday for a month. Make the quantity two if you want more than one coffee a day, or if there are two people wanting coffee every day.

 Then, sit back and wait until the coffee drops through your letterbox!

When will my subscription start?

Sign up for one of our Coffee Subscription packages and your first order will be shipped within 24 hours.

Can I change my subscription

Yes, you can make changes to the quantity or type of coffee you receive at any time you like. Try a different coffee for a week, switch to decaf for a bit, or pause your subscription via your online account.

If you want to cancel your subscription, you’ll be able to via your online account.

When will I be charged for my subscription?

Your billing period starts the day you sign up and will recur with every order, based on the frequency of your subscription.
