Volcano Coffee at home.

Kurt, Founder

When Kurt Stewart was growing up in rural New Zealand, grinding fresh coffee was an activity that brought the family together every weekend. When Kurt moved to London as a chef in 1994, he continued to seek out the best coffee he could get his hands on to continue his Sunday morning ritual.

In 2010 Kurt founded Volcano Coffee Works - an ethical roastery that would bring the great tasting coffees he had grown up with to the UK while supporting the livelihoods of the communities who grow and produce it.

From a coffee cart on the streets of West Norwood to our state-of-the-art roastery in Brixton, Kurt remains the beating heart of our family and continues to roast the first batch of coffee every day.
