We're proud to fuel over 250 of the country's leading speciality coffee shops. Our Volcano hot spots series illuminates their expertise, their passion and their courage. This time, we bring you North London's Humdingers.
About: Humdingers
With 4 sites across North and Central London, as well as a busy catering & events business, Humdinger bakeries offer fantastic coffee, fresh homemade pastries and an extensive lunch menu so there’s something to fit every occasion. As one of our newest customers, we wanted to chat with their head of events, Alice to find out more about Humdingers and why they chose to use Volcano coffee.
Tell us about your business.
Humdingers are a London-wide independent catering and event planning company, formed in 2011, we offer high-quality food and services ranging from corporate lunches to champagne & canape receptions and weddings, all from our base in Hoxton. All of our bread and pastries are freshly made in- house, which inspired founder, Robert Hunningher BEM, to expand the business in 2022, and open 3 cafes in and around North London to showcase our products further.
We are a business with a heart and community is at our very core. We use a percentage of our profits to run a soup kitchen operating 4 nights a week providing 1,000 free hot meals each week from our Hoxton base. Every event we run feeds another person! Whilst Humdingers Catering continues to evolve, we remain remaining committed to serving its clients and supporting the local community.
Why did you choose to work with Volcano?
We chose to work with Volcano because they are an independent London-based supplier, and they want to be really involved in driving people into our stores. They’ve got excellent customer service, and the Crisis Blend initiative aligns with our mission.
What Volcano coffee do you serve?
Firehouse Blend in the cafes and across our catering arm too - and customers are loving it!
What is your favourite coffee order to make?
Levi our assistant cafe manager said: "I'd say a cappuccino or mocha, because when you get the art really nice and the chocolate swirls with the foam on top it looks so pretty. And you have more time to do a nice design"
