5 ways to celebrate Mother's Day 2021

So here we are - Lockdown Mother’s Day 2.0. While none of us expected to spend a second consecutive mothering Sunday unable to celebrate with our matriarchal marvels in person, there are plenty of options for celebrating the occasion on a video call. We’ve chosen five of our favourites below!

1 - Meet your mum on the yoga mat

Already a regular hobby for millions, yoga has become a key part of the lockdown daily regime. As beneficial for the mind as it is the body, why not spend 30 minutes with your mum on the mat? A shared moment of tranquillity between the two of you.

Yoga With Adriene has an extensive catalogue of free classes for all levels. Or check out Yogarise for a live drop-in class and good value monthly memberships.

2 - Bake salted coffee caramel brownies

Volcano roaster and resident baking queen Claire Wallace has perfected a salted coffee caramel brownie recipe, perfect for an online baking session. Get the ingredients in, dial up Mum and crack on! Check it out here.

3 - Sunday roast delivered to your door

While their doors have been closed, pubs and restaurants all over the country have been sending out their Sunday roasts throughout the winter months. Find your local favourite, sync up the ordering and sit down for a Mother’s Day feast with all the trimmings. Pop a Balanced pod in the machine for a post-feast finisher.

4 - Watch your favourite film

Whether it's Pulp Fiction, Toy Story 2 or Strictly Ballroom, there's always one film your mum treasures above all others. Press play at the same time, pour yourself a cup of Mount Blend and settle in.

5 - Pencil portraits

Find out who has the best drawing skills - all you need is a sharpened pencil and a piece of paper. Brew up some of our delicious Guatemalan coffee Finca Marilandia and put pen to paper.
