5 places to take dad this Father’s Day
What better way to show him he’s the greatest, than to take dad to one of London’s leading independents this Father’s Day. To make your life easier, we’ve rounded up our favourite spots, which, better still, all accept walk-ins. Last-minute folk - we’ve got you.
Perks and White
Find them: brightening commuters’ days in Herne Hill and Tulse Hill
Owned and run by locals of 20 years, these guys pride themselves on serving excellent coffee with a side of fun and community spirit (not to mention the delicious locally produced artisan food). We’ve been lucky enough to work with them since they first opened in 2014, and you’ll find our single origin espresso as well as filter coffee on their menu.
On Sundays Herne Hill plays host to a popular market, situated just outside Perks and White’s Arch site. A sunny stroll with dad, after good coffee and an egg and cress scone, browsing local goods? Sounds like a plan to us!
As a special exclusive for Volcano customers, they’re offering 20% off to anyone who brings their dad to one of their cafes on Father’s Day, just show this blog at the till to claim your discount.
The Apple Blue
Find them: dishing up brunch and crazily good pastries to lucky Balham residents
This Balham spot serves up original and tasty brunches, including the BFT: berry compote and peach custard French toast, as well as their new summer shawarma of confit duck egg, slow cooked lamb shoulder and triple cooked potatoes all laid out on a soft naan.
You’ll find our Mount Blend espresso alongside their array of pastries on the counter. Hello twice baked chocolate orange croissants.
Pear Tree Cafe
Find them: fuelling park strolls in Battersea and Clapham
Self-described as ‘Thoughtfully crafted cafe style dining in the park’ - Pear Tree Cafe opened to huge success in Battersea Park, and have since opened a second site on Clapham Common. For brunch they have excellent buttermilk pancakes with compote and mascarpone for the sweet-toothed, as well as a winning maple and paprika bacon sandwich that goes down a treat.
As if that wasn't tempting enough, you can also taste our exclusive Pear Tree cafe blend at both sites.
Jusu Brothers
Find them: refreshing the residents of Notting Hill
This superfood pan-asian eatery and soothing juice bar promises to put a spring in your dad’s step. With fresh, made-to-order healthy fare, from green juices to salads, seafood and more, they’ll have you feeling energised to make the most of the day. Their airy space - coined the 'Zen Cocoon' - was designed to maximise peace of mind and positive energy.
Enjoy our blend in their takeaway iced lattes - the perfect accompaniment for exploring London with dad.
The Good Egg
Find them: bringing Tel Aviv inspired flavours to Stoke Newington and Soho
Indulge in delicious dishes inspired by the flavours of the Middle East - think shakshuka, hash, sabih, bagels, challah french toast and more. With freshly baked almond and cardamom morning buns, not to mention their famous chocolate babka on the counter (if you’re lucky enough to get there before it sells out).
Find our Mount Blend coffee on the menu at their all-day restaurant in Soho and cafe in Stoke Newington.
