CYESHA, RWANDA

Origin: Rwanda
Region: Nyamasheke District
Varietal: Red Bourbon
Process: Anoxic Washed

This month’s coffee comes from the Cyesha station, located in Nyamasheke District, close to the shores of Lake Kivu in Rwanda. The region’s rich volcanic soils create the perfect environment for growing high-quality Red Bourbon cherries.

The farm is run by Deo Gratias who inherited 2 hectares of land from his elders and decided to use the land to cultivate coffee. Over the years, his commitment has transformed the farm into a thriving enterprise, earning him multiple awards for agricultural excellence.

The result is a coffee that is bright, fruity, and refreshing. Expect a layered flavour profile: sweet vanilla, fresh strawberry, and tropical mango, lifted by hints of milk chocolate. A smooth mouthfeel and clean acidity create a perfectly balanced cup.

To serve? This washed coffee really shines when brewed for pour-over or cafetiere.

How long does the coffee last?

Typically, the coffee you’ll receive will have been roasted within 10 days. We recommend the coffee be consumed within 5 weeks (although it can still taste great after this).
What grind should I choose?

Typically, fine grind is for espresso machines however, for low pressure machines like SMEG, Dualit and the smaller Sage machines we recommend medium grind. All other brewing equipment like Cafetiere, Moka Pot, Aeropress, V60 are best with medium grind. Please get in touch if you are having issues with the grind.
What if I am not happy?

We always love to hear from you and consider feedback a gift whether it's good or bad. If you are missing an item or have received an incorrect or damaged item, please contact us immediately by emailing our team at orders@volcanocoffeeworks.com.As coffee is a perishable product, we're unable to take any returns once dispatched. However, we recommend trying a 200g bag on your first order and if you don't like it, you can return it via our can Taste Guarantee policy. We aim to respond to all emails within 24hr Mon-Fri. When will I get my order?

Our orders are sent via Royal Mail 48hrs or DHL. You have an option to select this at the checkout. Orders are despatched the next working day (or the same day with DHL Tracked orders placed before 12pm). Any subscription order is dispatched by Royal Mail 48hr.
