We're proud to fuel over 250 of the country's leading speciality coffee shops. Our Volcano hot spots series illuminates their expertise, their passion and their courage. This time, we bring you Liverpool Street’s Good Coffee Kiosk.
About: The Good Coffee Kiosk
Tucked inside St. Botolph without Bishopsgate Church, The Good Coffee Kiosk is more than just a coffee stop, it’s a social enterprise dedicated to serving exceptional speciality coffee while giving back to the Bishopsgate community. The kiosk supports the church’s charitable work, making every cup count. As one of our most unique customers, we wanted to chat with the owner, Mel to find out more about the kiosk and why they chose to use Volcano coffee.
Tell us about your business.
The Good Coffee Kiosk is a social enterprise based at St. Botolph without Bishopsgate Church, aiming to raise funds to support the church’s charitable causes through sales of speciality coffee drinks, small bites to eat and suspended coffees – our customers have the opportunity to buy a coffee upfront for someone in need. Our barista George has a super charismatic personality and welcomes our guests with a friendly smile and lots to chat about.
Why did you choose to work with Volcano?
We chose Volcano to be our coffee suppliers because of the company’s well known ethical practices - being a B Corp and Carbon Neutral business – and led by exceptional humans who support their clients fully from project inception to opening day and expansion. We feel like part of a big family/group of people working together to serve great coffees with exceptionally good practices!
Which Volcano coffee do you serve and why?
We chose to serve Sombra as it helps fund reforestation projects in Brazil, and this aligns perfectly with our values of supporting businesses doing good for people and the planet. And also because it tastes delicious and is a crowd pleaser – everyone has been enjoying our coffees from day one!
What is your favourite coffee to make?
Our barista, George loves serving cappuccinos, as they enjoy making the coffee look nice (and taste amazing) with latte art and of course the chocolate dusting!
