Today, that long-standing relationship is being scaled nationally through Rise Up Blend, a purpose-driven coffee that combines flavour-forward quality with measurable social impact.
The Challenge
Coffee is central to the workplace experience, yet its origins, and the people behind it are often invisible.
For WeWork, the opportunity was clear: to go beyond serving great coffee, and instead use scale to support ethical sourcing, social impact, and long-term community development.
With Volcano as its trusted coffee partner for more than 10 years, WeWork had the platform to make that impact meaningful.
The Solution
Rise Up Blend is produced in partnership with Rebuild Women’s Hope, an all-female coffee cooperative on Idjwi Island, Democratic Republic of the Congo, one of the most challenging places in the world to be a woman.

- Support 15,000+ women across farming and production
- Create 13,000 coffee production jobs for women
- Provide primary healthcare access to 93% of women
- Build a maternal and paediatric hospital
- Launch a barista school, coffee processing factory, and coffee laboratory
- Enable income beyond coffee through locally produced goods
